France is very pleased with the election of Ali Triki as the next President of the General Assembly.

He is a prominent son of Africa and France is very happy that a minister from Africa will be chairing the debates of the General Assembly next year, especially when we have so many challenges to deal with: financial crisis, economic crisis, climate change...

I think his speech was very inspiring and we look forward to working very well with him.
