Our authorities expressed concern about the developments regarding Aung San Suu Kyi, a very strong concern actually, expressed notably by our minister. Many other countries, the EU as well as the ASEAN and many individual members of the ASEAN did so, so it was very important that the Security Council also expressed the same kind of concern. We are very happy about this agreement, I think it was necessary that the voice of the Council would be heard on what is happening right now concerning Aung San Suu Kyi. We have a good expression of the Council.
Basically, you have a message that is an expression of concern and very much in line with what had been previously said by the Security Council, i.e. that political prisoners, of course including Aung San Suu Kyi, have to be released and that the government of Myanmar has to create the conditions for a dialogue with Aung San Suu Kyi, and obviously her recent arrest is not going to create this kind of conditions. I think that is really what I can say.
This statement clearly calls on the release of Aung San Suu Kyi, it alludes to the arrest of Aung San Suu Kyi and then calls on the release of all political prisoners. Of course, Aung San Suu Kyi is included./.
