The President of the Republic congratulates Mr. Ban Ki-moon for his brilliant re-election as Secretary-General of the United Nations, in a unanimous decision by its members.
He thanks Mr. Ban Ki-moon for the commitment he has demonstrated throughout his first term to the Organization and to peace and security.
France is fully confident that the Secretary-General will pursue these efforts over the next five years, and will support him in his endeavours, so that the UN may lie more than ever at the heart of effective global governance, for a safer and more just world.
