DRC – Attack on MONUSCO soldiers
Statement by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs

France strongly condemns the attack that injured 7 MONUSCO (United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo) blue helmets yesterday in South Kivu.
It calls on the DRC authorities to ensure that those responsible for this attack be brought to justice.
France is extremely concerned by the situation in the Kivus, which is particularly affecting the civilian population. It reaffirms its full support for MONUSCO which must be able to fully accomplish its mission to protect civilians and urges all Congolese actors to respect this action, in particular in eastern DRC.
