It commends the work conducted on a daily basis by these soldiers and their key role in protecting civilians and displaced persons in Darfur. The UNAMID personnel killed yesterday participated with honor in this peace effort, to the point of sacrificing their lives. France extends its condolences to the families of the victims.
France reaffirms its full support for UNAMID’s action to ensure the security of the civilian populations in Darfur. It calls on the Sudanese authorities to shed full light on this lethal attack against a peacekeeping force and to bring an end to the impunity that prevails in this region by bringing those responsible to justice.
